The second conference on “Quran Translations” was held yesterday, June 8, in Istanbul, Turkey.
According to Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), the event was aimed at discussing the problems related to the translations of the holy Quran.
Difficulties in translating the Quran into Turkish, problems regarding the Turkish interpretation of the Quran, Quran translation as a means for better understanding the verses of the Book of God, and ways of selecting words in translation of the Quran were among the themes studied at the conference.
A large number of translators attended the event and discussed the weaknesses of Turkish translations of the Quran and exchanged their ideas and experiences concerning the issue.
On the sidelines of the conference, an exhibition featuring the Quranic translations which were translated into 20 world language was mounted as well.
